Bad outfit for the camera-- the lighting, the pattern, all bad. I think I am in love too.

A couple of the blogs I regularly read are in love with this Phoebe Price-person. From what I understand, this woman has not built her fame by any discernible artistic, athletic or intellectual talent. Absolumente non. It was built by her own determination, sheer pluck and some truly awful outfits (...and some chicken cutlets.)

My fantasy is that she's a phD student at UCLA and her dissertation is a sociological experiment involving a methodical rise to pop culture fame. She would document in her dissertation the timeit took for her to be "discovered" and then revel to the world how you, too, can get your photo published next to those of Reese Witherspoon and Britney Spears. It would be brilliant.

However, the only thing I can surmise is that she's probably guilty of massive vanity and delusion, and that she looks, ahem, "interesting" in front of cameras.

(Why is it when bands with 3-4 members take photos, that they always are staring off in different directions, except for maybe one or two that seem aware there is a camera? Who came up with this formula?)

Seven kajillion people forwarded an email that my favorite band in the universe is going to Broadway. They will be playing for 12 nights straight in November, or something insane like that. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. Why did you leave again, Andy?!!!


The new album is called "Red Carpet Massacre." The press keep mentioning Justin Timberlake worked with them on it. Enough already! Who cares about HIM? What about Nick?

This week, I read New York Mag's article about the double suicides of these two artists in love. It was a tale of love, paranoia, artistic frustration, and Scientology. I was moved enough to read some of Theresa Duncan's blog, (the post below is something I gleaned immediately from it) -- I found her affecting...

She created an animated short which was mentioned in the New York article. Iam hoping to find a clip of it to post. It was fragile, lovely and very rock and roll.

Always sad to hear stories like this.

Christophe is a graduate from the University of Paris with a degree in advanced mathematics, he went on to gain a Diploma of Engineering at Ecole Centrale des Arsts et Manufactures de Paris. Christophe continued his education, earning a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, where he is currently pursuing his PhD under the direction of Professor Stephen W. Hawking. He's brilliant, he's handsome, he's FRENCH.

I'd LOVE to discuss black holes with him. Le sigh. This is not a very good picture of him. Okay, I'm going back under my rock.

Disney To Halt DVD Sequels

The Walt Disney Co. will no longer produce direct-to-video sequels of its animated features, according to Disney watcher Jim Hill. Hill, who has had a hit-and-miss record in reporting on inside decisions at the company, said that Sharon Morrill, president of DisneyToon Studios, has been forced to step down as part of the decision to shut down the group that produces the DVD sequels. Prior to Disney's acquisition of Pixar, Pixar executives Steve Jobs and John Lasseter had publicly complained about the quality of the sequels, maintaining that they undercut the value of the original features. Disney executives had responded that the sequels had proved to be enormously successful for the studio. According to Hill, Lasseter made the decision to halt further production of the DVD sequels and fire Morrill after viewing a "work-in-progress version" of The Tinkerbell Movie, which Hill described as "an awful mess." Hill said that Lasseter complained to Disney chief Robert Iger that the movie was "virtually unwatchable." As a direct result of that meeting, Hill wrote, "some $30 million worth of animation had to be scrapped."

Stupid insanity going on here. I have about 4 projects that I'm triyng to complete, and I don't know how many potential ones orbiting. I should NOT complain, but naturally I am.

More important than that is that the season finale for Heroes is tonight on NBC. This is the BEST show on tv right now.

Sartorial Obituary: Ann Demeulemeester Dress

Today, I have posted my beloved Ann Demeulemeester dress on eBay. It has taken me 1 year to say goodbye to this dress. It is gorgeous. It feels like a DREAM. It makes you look like a star.

It's too damn big on me.

Instead of the jaw dropping effect this goddess robe has on women 5'8 or higher, I looked like the Disney dwarf Dopey. I wasn't tall enough. I cried a lot.

Anyhow. If you're tall enough, and about a size 8, it will be the most insanely gorgeous thing on you. You should have it.

I hope no one bids on it.

Animation: I KNEW it

I was talking to someone about how DIsney REALLY really should put out another princess story. I was POSITIVE the next feature was going to be Glen Keane's Did-he-really-agree-to-3-D "Rapunzel", however I was mistaken. Disney is releasing "The Frog Princess. In addition to this new princess fairytale/merchandise push, Disney will also introduce their first black/african-american princess.

(No, neither Jasmine or Nala counted!!!)

Those "Disney" eyes....

It's set in New Orleans and her name is Princess Maddy. Of course, this is all pre-production. Who knows what final results will be.

I'm sure that this film will meet its audience, ESPECIALLY with guru John Lasseter at the reins and racial-based press. Of course, people will talk about it and I'm sure it will be clever, funny, enchanting, empowering, whatever, etc.... anyhow, we'll see when we see it.

Of course, my perverse side can't help but wonder what the prince will look like (if there is one)...
